To avoid having to switch rooms, we ended up stuck in a small, dingy, smelly room with a lumpy queen bed.
We wanted to go to Smith Mountain Lake and rent a pontoon Boat, but this was the closest hotel. There were a bunch of us so we got 2 rooms. Both were nice but the king was super-nice. Check in was quick and easy. The housekeeper was really cool about getting us the extra stuff we needed. I was surprised at how good the breakfast was for a budget hotel. Glad they had a pool too!
The young ladies in the office were very charming.
Made a reservation a month before our stay, for 2 nights, king room. Booked on the Days Inn website. When checking in, was told that I had booked a smoking room. Not true, the website DOES NOT have an option to select either smoking or non smoking. The hotels apparent default is smoking. Not acceptable.
Our family of 3 was here for an extended weekend. We had a king room that was nice & big - almost a suite, but much better price. All the staff were friendly & the manager went out of her way to make sure we had everything we needed & could find our way around the little town. The breakfast was a good selection - loved the waffles. The pool was nice & refreshing, easy to relax in. We thought there might be a lot of noise from the highway, but it was pretty quiet inside the room. Definitely staying here next time we come to Virginia.
Only picked one star rating, because you have to at least pick one to post. Otherwise, I wouldn't have given this place that high a rating.
Staff is awesome! My son, who is staying there, has severe Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, the staff have been extremely inderstanding about his special needs and have go.e iut if their way to make him welcome. Ivey offered to be his housekeeper so he would not have to have as many strangers going into his room. Whenever there is a question, or concern the staff call me ASAP to find out what to do that will not upset him. Jenny, the manager has been wonderful about keeping our reservations currant and Brisn, Gary, Susan, Betty and Ivy have handled any situations with concern and friendliness. Robert thanks them all.
Spent the next day with family to return to find the room had not been cleaned, no clean towels, wash cloths, etc. No bed made, trash cans not emptied.
My companion and myself travel a lot and as passing through the cute little town we decided to stay at Days Inn. Charming people as well as nice Mexican Restaurant next to the motel office. Was a nice day to walk to lunch.
As we entered our room we noticed a fowl smell. The smell was coming from our bathroom. Bathroom was spotless but smell was awful. As we unpacked our night clothes we noticed the smell faded almost until it was gone. After a warm shower we both fell right to sleep. The beds were very comfortable with extra pilllows and cover we slept very well.
Stay away from this place. Staff is uncaring and unapologetic. Lousy service, dirty rooms. Just not worth it at any price.
Rooms are clean but door has out of date card readers. We had a little touble getting in at first
Was next told that the King room was only available for one night and would need to move to another room for night 2. Despite having a confirmed 2 night reservation!
